Autumn update

Information about Monday Junior (and Senior) training from Dallam School Heversham site and forthcoming races during the autumn and winter.

Junior co-ordinators John Hodgson 01524 762015 and Debbie Copley 01524 702563

We are getting a great turnout of Juniors once again on a Monday Night. If anyone would like to register with the Club it is FREE for juniors, you just need to go to the Dallam homepage and download the form.

Can all Juniors please make sure that they are on the register each week for the Monday Night sessions, and that Emergency Contact Details are up to date.  See John for the indoor register and Debbie for the outdoor register.

Please note that the juniors running on the roads should be as well equipped as possible. We advise a high visibility vest and a decent head-torch. Reflector armbands with red LEDS are also useful. We run on quiet roads and it is better to be seen and remain safe. A waterproof is also essential for the wet nights.

(Please note that a good headtorch is the LED Lenser HR7 rechargeable, available from Amazon at about £37.  http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lenser-Rechargeable-Head-Lamp-Black/dp/B001PMP340/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1413789426&sr=8-1&keywords=led+lenser+head+torch

Forthcoming Races:-

Laura Ruxton, (Daisy’s Mum), has let us know about the ‘Parkruns’ that are happening near us, at Fellfoot Park, Newby Bridge, at 9am on a Saturday morning. This is a 5km run, with the emphasis on ‘fun’, but it is timed, is as competitive as you want it to be and it is free! More info can be found at…. http://parkrun.org.uk/fellfoot

Kids can take part at any age but under 10's need an adult running with them all the time. Over 10's are able to run on their own. It's competitive for everyone with last weeks winner completing the course in under 16 minutes and the longest around 45 minutes. Everyone (even kids) have to register at parkrun.org.uk beforehand and then print the barcode as this enables you to get your time.

I thought maybe I would give it a go on Saturday the 1st November. Shall we see if we can get a few of us juniors there! Laura is also happy to help keep an eye on some of them when they are running and can offer lifts but from Kendal, 07535749829 or laura_ruxton@yahoo.co.uk
